Visalia Rescue Mission Men's Facility residential program can accommodate 36 men.  The Overnight Men's Shelter can house 60 men.  The women's residential program, The House of Hope can accommodate 12 single women.  The Shelter of Hope can house up to 26 women and children.

Men's Facility

The Mission's overnight emergency services include:

  • Men arrive at 4:30pm and check in with reception to reserve a bed (they must be alcohol and drug free).
  • The overnight guests have dinner, attend chapel, shower and receive bed assignments.
  • In the morning they are served breakfast at 6:00am and leave the premises.

This is our rescue program. It is designed to keep men off the streets with a meal, a bed and the gospel.

In addition we have one apartment, The Alpha House, designated as
transitional housing, accommodating 7 men. The men have completed the six-month program and are either going to school and working part time, or working full time or have some type of income such as SSI or Social Security benefits.

House of Hope

The House of Hope serves the spiritual, emotional and physical needs of single women. It also incorporates the six-month minimum S.T.E.P. program.

Shelter of Hope

Emergency and transitional services for homeless single women and women with children include:

  • Accommodations up to 30 days

for homeless single women, and 45 days for women with children

  • Receiving 3 meals daily, as well as chapel services in the evening
  • Case management to assist them in reaching a level of self-sustained living
This rescue program is designed to help women and women with children transition from living on the streets to becoming self-sufficient through offering meals, housing, and the gospel.
